Rachel Forsyth, a senior at Ann Arbor Pioneer High in Michigan, took third in the 5-kilometer girls championship race in 17:08.3 at the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships at Balboa Park's Morley Field in San Diego, Calif. Forsyth elevated from 33rd place in 18:41.2 in 2021, becoming the only prep female athlete to place in the top 10 in the country at both the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships and Nike Cross Nationals this season.
